dont you just love this quote..I was being a rebel at the weekend though and had coffee surrounded by trendy student types..think I was the oldest there at leaf bar off bold st, Liverpool
here is my ikea hack..I bought a few of these white holders but never really used them so decided to drill holes for drainage and screw them on to this trellis to cover a boring fence that was in shade so hardly anything grew there..going to fill the bottom troughs with different types of ferns I think.

And your garden hack is a very smart idea. I think once the plants take off and grow it will look quite nice. Your old fence will be green and flowering and a pretty view.
