My friend Lisa who I met many years ago over the Net has just published her first book so I was delighted to receive a preview copy and have been busy making things from it. I have got a shed full of craft stash with items that I pick up thinking that would look really good but it seems to turn into a mountain of stuff that I never get around to making!! One such item was a wooden bird reduced to 50p last Christmas!! I decided to fill a box with stuff from my stash mountain and actually get around to making something!! The book is very good for beginners or for those who only have a little bit of time in their hectic day but want to be creative. The chapters cover a variety of craft such as needle felting on old jumpers, quick card making ideas, using up beads for wind chimes etc. I decided to follow the clear instructions on using up old rub ons to alter this wooden bird and the project took me less than half an hour but I was really pleased with the result and it is ideal for the ATCs that I made yesterday from the chapter on using up paint backgrounds.

Hi Lorraine, Thank you for sharing your birds with us. I love the idea of filling a box with random supplies and creating something beautiful! I will definitely have to try this soon. 🙂
I am gathering so many useful ideas on this blog hop! I want to assemble my stash of cigar boxes with random supplies from my STASH for my library S.M.A.R.T. (Second Monday Art Recycle Trash) group; I just don’t know whether the box or the journal to put in the box should be the first project of 2015. What do you think?
Aloha start with the journal perhaps thanks for your visit
Your bird is so pretty and what a “cheep” price for it. Love getting deals like that!!! I would proudly display this in my home as I love it!!! TFS!
That bird is just too sweeet!
